The Boss CH-1 Super Chorus effect pedal delivers the classic, warm and clear Chorus sound that Roland has been famous for since the introduction of the Jazz Chorus amplifiers.
The controls for Depth and Rate allow the sound of the Boss CH-1 to be effectively and precisely adjusted, while the EQ can emphasize the low or the high frequencies. The Effect Level knob continuously influences the relationship between the Chorus signal and the dry guitar signal.
The Boss CH-1 Super Chorus effect pedal can be supplied with power either via a 9V battery or an optionally available power adapter.
Boss Ch-1 is a perfect chorus for the ones who looking for an easy chorus to use and in the same time decent sounding one.Like the other Boss pedals recently made this chorus is digital which sounds more sterile than the older CH-1 which was a lot warmer and better sounding. It has stereo feature, which is kind a good and EQ filter to shape your sound. This is more of guitar solo chorus and if you want to use it for chords voicing youll better look for Boss CE-5.My overall opinion for this chorus is that its very usefull in varity of ways and can be use from beginners to professionals with no issue but for me digital sounding chorus pedals are not the best in term of sound quality.
The Boss Ch-1 is a cracking, no nonesence chorus pedal. Whilst it doesn't have the glamour or reputation of other choruses, it also doesn't have the extra features that really, no one in your audience gives a monkeys about. It sounds like a chorus, but won't break the bank. Fits easily on most boards but it rugged. A decent pedal with no frills.
Overall, a very nice chorus. Not really "in your face" but works like a charm. Nice airy sound. If Im not mistaken, it is the one used by Robert Smith in The Cure. Controls are very efficient and you can easily dial rhytmical or more lead chorus sounds.
