Overdrive effect pedal with vintage character for electric bass
The Darkglass Electronics MicroTubes Vintage Bass Overdrive Pedal is Darkglass’ tribute to some of the most legendary sounds in rock history. It provides warm tube-like tones with a natural dynamic response that echoes the organic compression of old tube amps and reel-to-reel tape machines.
As expected the level sets the volume of the overdriven signal while the drive sets the amount of saturation within the overdriven signal.
The blend knob mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine control of the blend ratio. The era knob interacts with the Drive knob to shape the character of the pedal. Dial it down to get the warm midrange tones of the 70s or crank it up to get the punchy metallic tones of 80s and 90s rock.
The main features of the Darkglass Electronics MicroTubes Vintage Bass Overdrive Pedal include:
I use the Alpha Omicron as these smaller DG units fit better with the Helix's FX loop, but the AO is a but chunky for my function band. The VMT fits right in brilliantly, with just enough grit and growl to flavour the sound with the rock stuff. Darkglass makes high end pedals, and these smaller units are no different.
