The Drawmer 1973 is a 3-Band FET Compressor that combines exceptional sound with high flexibility and practical features. The 1973 can pull off some pretty amazing things that would be impossible for a single band compressor. It can prevent an acoustic instrument such as a guitar or double bass from sounding boomy and loose, without thinning the highs.
The 1973 comprises of a set of crossover filters that splits the audio signal into three frequency bands. Each signal then passes through its own compressor, which can be independently adjusted. The signals are then recombined and the final wet/dry mix and levels can be adjusted. The advantage of this is that one frequency band's compression doesn't have any affect on the others.
The timbre can be easily altered without eliminating detail and clarity. adding a heavy compression in the bass band can add to the richness of a vocal track. Any mid band raspiness is easily controlled, whilst high band compression adds shimmer and definition.
The Drawmer 1973 has been developed to be as simple to use as possible whilst still having complete control over the audio. From left to right, the front panel consists of three identical with Variable Crossover Frequency knobs seperating them. Large, illuminated V.U. meters and output controls are found to the right.
The main features of the Drawmer 1973 include:
Elegantly though-through as a multi-dimensional dynamics unit that you can use on individual instruments or as a whole mix all the way to mastering with very high success. Nearly impossible to overdo it thanks to intuitive layout combined with the essential mix knob. You get that hardware FET "console like" mojo you never-ever get that juicy with plugins. All this makes 1973nearly impossible to beat at this price level!
