The Grayscale Permutation 18 is a complex combination of sequencer and clocked random generator based on the Turing Machine. A sequence of up to 16 individual gates and a CV value, which is additionally output to SEQ and INV SEQ, is generated by means of a cyclically shifting calculation model and white noise. The module is also capable of storing sequences and controlling the intensity of the output voltages via its own VCA. Sequencer commands such as Clear and Write can be controlled individually via gate inputs. The internal noise generator has its own output.
With the separately available VARIANT module, the Permutation 18 can be extended by an 8-step CV sequencer with additional CV inputs as well as positive and negative CV outputs.
