Intellijel Morgasmatron is a filter module for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. It is the successor of the popular Intellijel Korgasmatron II. The module combines two completely revised independent multimode filter units with six different filter types on each side. Each filter has its own mode select control, input, output, cutoff, resonance, Q drive and gain control. The filter is modeled after the filter in the Korg MS-20 synthesizer and features crossfading andoverdrive.
Filter Units
Each filter has two CV inputs (one with built-in attenuator and the other with built-in attenuator) to modulate the cut-off frequency and another CV input to modulate the resonance. Both filters oscillate when the Q-controller is at maximum and generate pitched sine waves following the two separate 1V / Oct inputs.
crossfade function
The two filters can be used independently, or they can be used together (either in series or parallel). Then you can easily fade between them via the XFADE button or the XFADE CV input and the built-in attenuator. The Dry switch can be used to mute a filter section and filter B can also be phase-inverted.
overdrive
The overdrive circuit of the Intellijel Morgasmatron has been completely revised and now sounds even more aggressive. The output signal can be output either with soft or hardclip, which allows musical saturation effects up to total signal destruction.
