KORG Pitchblack Black
The Korg PitchBlack is a compact, chromatic tuner pedal with true bypass.
The Korg PitchBlack has a large, bright LED display for easy viewing on dark stages, and is ideal for guitarists and bassists.
With multiple tuning and display modes, such as meter, half strobe and full strobe modes and mirror mode, the Korg PitchBlack is a versatile tuner to suit most tuning preferences. The PitchBlack mutes the signal to enable silent tuning, and the inclusion of true bypass means that the signal is sent directly to the output jack when the unit is off to protect the instrument's tone.
The main features of the Korg PitchBlack Floor Tuner Pedal include:
100% true bypass floor pedal tuner
A perfect fit in your pedal board plus the DC output powers other pedals
12 note equal temperament
E0 (20.60 Hz) -- C8 (4186 Hz) detection range

Full Strobe, Half Strobe, Meter, and Mirror display modes

Ive gave them as presents to both bass and guitar player of my band, got fed up with there dodgy tuners and wanted to make there but also my life a lot easier. I might be a drummer but that doesnt mean Im tone death -)
At first glance it looks sturdy as fuck and easy to use, does what is made for in the best and worst conditions. Completely idiot proof. And take it from me, Ive seen it taking a right beating on stage including the showers of bear, heavy boot pounding crazy drunk stage divers and the list goes on.
Outside screw of the input broke of the one from my guitar player, shes been treating it like shit and still it doesnt die. Except for the battery every once and a while. The input still works . . .
So, indestructible? So far only a flesh wound, bought one for my job as a guitar/stage tech and I will recommend it to all heavy users.
Yes you probable will find cheaper ones, wouldnt know if they will stand up this one.
I recently bought this tuner to replace my old boss tu-2. This one has a smaller footprint, is true bypass and is lighter. Its everything I wanted. It gota few different tune modes such a strobe which can quite handy. A bit on the down side though if you want to use some other mode: It switches back to default mode if unplugged so you tend to stay in mode one. Awesome simple tuner that does it job. Recommended.
After going back, to use pedals again, one of the things I consider most essential in an FX chain, is of course a tuner pedal.
After seing many pedals, and many reviews, the Korg sounded the most interesting, for two main reasons: a large screen (essential when you play in a dark stage), and an excellent price.
The pedal is beautifully designed, and very precise without that annoying tremble of many tuners out there.
Within the range of good tuners stage, there is a competitor BOSS TU-3 which in my opinion loses to this KORG.
When were on stage, we should not worry about the tuning of instruments, and this pedal is it possible, in addition to having a great readability both day and night, is a pedal very customizable and easy to use.
Without a doubt, perfect for professional or novice, if you have the guitar / bass always in tune with no problem, this is really a solution.
