The Korg Wavedrum Global Edition dynamic percussion synthesizer is the next generation of synthesis in live percussive sounds from Korg.

Korg’s new Wavedrum Global Edition builds upon the success of the previous WD-X model by improving the sound engine that mixes DSP algorithms and PCM technology for the highest quality of sound. Improved on-board sensors can detect how and where the player is hitting the pad, along with any subtle movements to offer the most genuine and true to life expressive performance. So whether its hand, brush or stick that is striking the head or mutes, rim shots or scratches the Wavedrum Global Edition manages to complete the performance techniques.

The Korg Wavedrum Global Edition contains 200 sound presets and spreads a huge range of percussion from marimbas and talking drums to some stringed instruments like the sitar and koto. This vast array of sounds can be customised and then stored on a further 200 user presets meaning you should never go wanting for variety of sounds. For use in performances the built in live mode allows for up to 12 settings for fast interchanges and recalls of favoured settings. Further improvements to this dynamic percussion synthesizer such as input sensitivity allow for indivual playing styles to be supported. There are 140 built in loops to aid practicing and jamming to help and can be really useful for beginners or just some instant fun. An added Aux input will also allow for external audio source including an additional wavedrum.
