Make Noise's X-Pan is a high-quality mixer module with five inputs, crossfader and stereo outputs. The upper and middle units of the module are identical: two inputs (A & B) each, can be adjusted manually and by control voltage in the level against each other or cross-fade. The mixed result can now be freely positioned in the stereo field with the panorama control. The lower unit adds up the first two crossfader groups and allows the connection of a further mono or stereo signal, the level of which can also be adjusted manually and via CV.
If, for example, you use a slowly oscillating sinusoidal LFO on the PAN controls, you get "wandering" effects in the panorama; if, however, you use fast modulation in the audio range, exciting sideband sounds are the result. The same applies to the X-FADE inputs, from the leisurely fading between inputs, fading in and out of just one input, to wild tremolo effects, everything is in here. So it is only logical that the AUX level can also be controlled via control voltage. Since the module is DC decoupled, it is also ideal for mixing and blending CV signals.
