The Martin GPC-13E Burst acoustic guitar at a glance
With the Martin GPC-13E Burst, the Pennsylvania-based manufacturer Martin & Co. presents another member of its Mexican Road series, which is characterized by its fair price-performance ratio and outstanding quality.
Woods and construction
A semi-solid construction consisting of a Sitka spruce top and a body made of strikingly grained Ziricote produces a powerful tone that unfolds quickly and comprehensively in all frequencies thanks to a flat Scalloped-X bracing. A wafer-thin high-gloss finish plays a key role in the rapid development of the sound and also allows the observer a deep insight into the coarsely marbled grain of the wood. A Select Hardwood neck, which can be easily gripped in all 20 frets thanks to a Performing Artist profile set into a black Richlitefingerboard, ensures obliging playability. To ensure clean intonation over the entire scale length of 645 mm, the manufacturer relies on a compensated bridge inlay made of GraphTech TUSQ and a 44.45 mm wide nut made of White Corian, whose fine notches are perfectly matched to the saddle. Closed chrome tuners also ensure easy tuning of the strings, which are fixed with plastic pins in a Richlite bridge.
Pickups
For flexible use both in the living room and on stage, the instrument is equipped with a high-quality Fishman MX-T pickup system, which has a regulation and an integrated tuner in the sound hole. The scope of delivery of the Martin GPC-13E Burst includes a sturdy gig bag.
