The affordable Red Hill MEC-01 acoustic guitar is the perfect companion for the stage and with a suitable headphone preamp, practicing is possible even at night hours without any problems. Accordingly, the solid body, with a spruce top on a mahogany body, provides barely audible resonance. In the stage situation, this electro-acoustic classical guitar is thus hardly susceptible to feedback, even at higher volumes.
In addition, the Redhill MEC-01

Plays straight out of the box, but change the strings bridge pins and now sounds fine. Takes a little getting used to as it is different to an acoustic, but in a band setting sounds fine. No feedback. Definitely worth a look if you struggle to be heard with an acoustic
What a fantastic guitar for the price. It looks good, but more importantly, after some set up it plays extremely well and sounds excellent. It's a joy to play. When turned up loud, close to the speaker, there is no feedback, due to its solid body.
Yes it is a solid body, like an electric guitar, no sound hole but also no pickup's...but it has a transducer built onto the bridge, which is solid, easy to use and provides a good enough range of EQ.
It feels very modern.... probably made entirely by a robot, hence the design and build are very precise, other than the truss rod turning bracket, which is flimsy....the old fashioned Allen hex key would be much better.
Overall, I would highly recommend this guitar.
Great service too from DV247 by the way. Good communication and delivered as promised on time
Needs a truss rod setup out of the box. Tele style neck profile and good intonation. Inlays are crisp and well cut. Build quality and finish are very good. Tuner and equalizer/pre-amp are good, though with headphones full volume only gives a low volume sound. Supplied battery was flat. An interesting guitar to experiment with and the lack of 'clutter' makes any finger style possible. The guitar is light and comfortable to play...akin to a Telecaster but lighter. I'm going to drop the action and add a 0.009 string set. The piezo acoustic sound is going to be fun. Something different with lots of potential. Would recommend.
I purchased mine used, and it has been modified with an additional pickup and 2 line outs. Nice low action, warm acoustic tone through the original saddle pickup, nice wide fretboard so ideal for those of us with chunky fingers.
