The Fender Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST (Shoreline Gold) is a 6-String Electric Guitar which upgrades the famous Off-Set Design for the most modern demands. Built from a Poplar Body with classic shaping and a Bolt-On Neck made of Roasted Maple, this Electric Guitar expands the Jaguar's tonal palette enormously without losing the Jaguar's distinctive feel. The shortened scale length of 24” is used to make wide chords and bends go smoothly, while 2x Squier SQR Atomic Humbuckers are available for powerful Rock Sounds. Smooth Cleans and clear Single-Coil Sounds are also not an issue due to their extended Circuitry. On the upper Control Plate, a Slider for coil splits and a Series/Parallel Switch for different Pick-Up Circuits are available in the Middle Position of the Switch. Finally, the combination of Adjustable Bridge and Stop-Bar offers audible advantages in terms of response and Sustain.
Needed some fettling out of the box. Action was high and supplied with 9 gauge strings. Too light for the 24” scale in my opinion. But I changed the strings to 10s, lowered the bridge and adjusted the pickup heights and now I’m very happy with the guitar. Tuning very stable. Coil tap and series/parallel switching only seems to have a mild effect on the sound at low home-use volumes and haven’t had chance to use it in a band situation yet, but all pickup positions very useable both clean and dirty. Also very happy with the professional service from DV247 and by far the best price I could find anywhere!
I was really excited about the prospect of a Jag with so much versatility and it has absolutely delivered.
Everything about it screams quality. The build is fantastic, the range of tones is awesome and omg is it cool!!!
Can't recommend it enough.
It's a fun guitar to play, the only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is the damage to the paint work. Mine had lacquer cracks in the neck pocket ( common on bolt on necks) but also on the body, from transit. It needed setting up out of the box , most guitars do so it's not a big deal. The neck is great, little on the thin side but really comfortable.
When this arived it was well set with no problems .It was almost in tune .the neck is really great on this model assuming you like its spec which I do .it even has rolled edges ala Fender USA after a good look overand play I cant really fault it .Its a Gag so short scale ,very comforable not too heavy .Sounds are fine ,A5 pickups and as play anythingfrom country to jazz it seems fine .havnt played it on stage yet but will soon Covid willing
