The Akai MPX8 is an eight-pad sample launcher, ideal for triggering samples on-stage from an SD card.
The Akai MPX8 is a straight-forward sample trigger unit, designed to trigger samples stored on an SD card, and synced from a PC or Mac thanks to the included drag and drop editor, which converts audio from any file format into WAV files to be used on the MPX8. The unit also comes with a great variety of standard samples built in.
The samples can be accessed using a variety of banks, and the LED display helps in navigating them. The Akai MPX8 has built in effects for tuning samples, panning and adding reverb. On the unit itself, there are 1/4" stereo outputs, a 1/8" headphone output, MIDI and USB inputs and outputs.
