The Beat Bars EX3 is a robust, all-purpose expression pedal with MIDI and USB connections. The EX3 is connected to the computer via USB and alternatively powered in MIDI mode. With the free MIDI configuration tool, which is available for MacOS, Windows and Linux, you can define on which channel, which controller with a definable range of values actions are executed. So it's easy to use the EX3 eg. via USB to control a cutoff parameter in AbletonLive or via MIDI to control a parameter of a rack synthesizer. The side-mounted selector switch determines whether the EX3 is in USB or MIDI mode. In the latter mode, power must still be supplied via USB; a power supply is not included.
Great little expression pedal which is so handy as it is automatically found by computer due to the USB connection. So good, that i'll buy a few more for my Hauptwerk installation. Great service by company, order was made, very easy with no fuss and then delivered all on time as specified on the order.
