Ive been using the Avantone Cr-14 on my guitar cabs for years and have always loved how it compliments a harsh dynamic microphone like an SM57. I wanted something a bit cheaper and found this. I must say it is really excellent as far as value is concerned. You get an aluminium case, heavy duty shock mount and a wooden box for the microphone. The Mic itself is built well and looks the part.
You'll notice straight away that this mic is loud! It is dual ribbon and I didn't have to use anything other than my Focusrite interface to get enough gain for a guitar cab recording. Sound wise it isn't as detailed as the Avantone but for £100 it isn't bad at all! A little muddy in the lower mids but EQ sorts that out a treat.
I'll be using this for years to come! Great service form DV247 too, shipped to the UK quickly and safely.
