Top-class rock and blues guitar with classic sound and comfortable handling.
Kept in the legendary design with the two distinctive horns, the Gibson SG Standard Ebony Lefthand proves to be a first-class blues and rock guitar with smooth handling and first-class sound. While the proven set-neck construction with neck and body made of mahogany creates the basis for a powerful sound, the not too strong "rounded" neck profile promises a comfortable playability of all positions of the rosewood fingerboard. With a Set of the popular Gibson 490 humbucker, the SG Standard delivers powerful sounds with a wide midrange spectrum and the ideal dose of bite at the guitar amplifier, whose preferred metier is Blues and rock. Last but not least, the Gibson SG Standard is equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners and the classic pair of Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.
The Gibson SG Ebony Lefthand is a classically styled blues and rock guitar for left-handers with top-notch playing and sound characteristics.
The glued mahogany neck in the "Rounded" profile can be played up to the highest registers without any problems.
SG in proven construction
The construction of the SG Standard guitar naturally follows the classic specifications and promises the ideal combination of powerful sound and easy handling. The practical mahogany body not only lies comfortably against the body, but also guarantees unhindered access to the high registers of the glued mahogany neck thanks to the characteristic double Cutaways. In addition, pleasantly grippy but not too powerful "Rounded" neck profile with 43 mm nut width lies comfortably in the hand, so that the classic playing techniques of the Blues and Rock can be implemented with ease.
Alnico II humbuckers in the form of a Gibson 490R and a Gibson 490T deliver premium blues and rock tones.
Gibson 490R and 490T Humbucker
With a Gibson 490R humbucker in neck position and a Gibson 490T humbucker at the bridge, two modern classics of the Gibson pickup line-up take over the electric sound transformation of the SG Standard electric guitar. A slightly modernized PAF interpretation, the classic Alnico II pickups deliver a warm sound with a full midrange spectrum and lively dynamics, suitable for both soulful clean passages and punchy overdrive riffs. The raised Output of the bridge pickup also helps to elicit a juicy Distortion from the guitar amp. And to be able to adjust the sound of the electric guitar, in addition to the 3-way pickup switch, there are separate volume and tone controls for the humbuckers.
Classic Grover Rotomatics keep the SG Standard safely and precisely in tune.
Tradition-conscious hardware equipment
Last but not least, Gibson equips the SG Standard Ebony electric guitar with tradition-conscious and reliable attachments. On the body, an aluminum stop bar holds the strings securely and guides them to the classic Nashville aluminum Tune-O-Matic bridge, whose generous adjustment options guarantee exact intonation and comfortably playable string action. Behind the Graph Tech nut, Grover Rotomatic tuners also ensure precise tuning with unshakable stability.
Very resonant, I can feel the vibrations on my left hand (neck hand) while playing. Good sustain, and mics are really versatile.
I really appreciate the included pjoto and ceklur list of Music Store's quality control and I nust say that the guitar was really well set up our of the box! Strings are sitting nice and low and practically no fret buzz ar all, one of the best feeling Gibsons I have played!

I've been saving money as hard as possible so that I could afford a Gibson SG. I checked several musical instrument store on the web and Music Store was the only one to have it in stock and ready to deliver :)
I am very excited by the noise this guitar makes, I also bought a Marshall DSL40CR to play it through. Sounds both clean and very very dirty.
I am a happy guitarist!

This is a very good looking guitar with a really fat sound. The tuning is good the neck easy to play and the frets feel good under the strings. For the last 30 years I played guitars with locking system tremolo bar and at first it felt different playing the SG. After a while it does feel amazing: It is a powerful guitar with a very raw sound and very easy to play, up to the last fret. One more thing:the SG is very lightweight . Overall this is a guitar that should be made default for any serious guitar player.
