At the heart of Hughes & Kettner's StompMan Pedalboard amp is the innovative, fully analog "Spirit Tone Generator," which recreates the complex interactions within a tube circuit in extreme detail, promising an organic feel with sensitive dynamic response and premium sonic character. While the sensitive Gain control increases the glassy Clean-Sound with increasing turn-up to a creamy Overdrive, the Sagging control contributes the coveted power amp compression. In addition to the tone control for the preamp, the Hughes & Kettner StompMan has Presence and Resonance pots for the playback behavior of highs and lows in the power amp.

Solo boost and effect path.

To give solo passages the necessary boost and a high assertiveness, Hughes & Kettner equips the StompMan with a switchable solo boost that increases the volume by up to 6 dB. In addition, the practical pedal amplifier holds a serial effects path for integrating effects devices between Preamp and power amplifier wide. The Bypass/FX Loop footswitch provides the option of bypassing the preamp or deactivating the FX loop.
