Korg prologue 8 is an eight-voice analog synthesizer with 49 keys. With its powerful analog circuits derived from previous models in the series, its newly developed digital multi-engine and its great DSP-based effects, prologue offers an extended sound palette and new creative design possibilities. Free software allows you to program your own oscillators and effect programs and save them in the instrument. The integrated L. F. Compressor provides particularly powerful and assertive sounds in the studio or on stage.
Newly developed multi-engine
The newly developed multi-engine of the prologue was designed as VCO3 with digital waveforms and FM. It has three different digital sound engines that can be combined with the analog VCOs to expand the sound potential. These include:
Four types of noise generators for percussive sounds or sound effects
VPM (Variable Phase Modulation) / FM oscillator with 16 oscillator types for metallic sounds
User Oscillator with 16 slots for own sounds
digital effects
The prologue's digital effects are in flawless 32-bit floating point processing, giving the synthesizer's sound an even more precise sound. With its two effect units modulation effect and delay/reverb you can create a multitude of variations of common effects like chorus or ensemble, warm tape delay or various reverbs. Added to this are the User Effect Slots, into which self-created effect programs can be loaded.
