Authentic Reissue of the Marshall 1987 50 Watt Top
The Marshall 1987X Head is an authentic reissue of the legendary 50-watt Plexi top that shaped the rock sound of the Seventies. Based on the classic tube circuit with ECC83Preamp and EL34 output stage, the two-channel guitar amp delivers the typical Marshall sound between glittering cleans and British biting overdrive. In addition, Marshall gives the 1987X Reissue head a serial FX loop for the integration of effects devices.
Two-channel Preamp with patching option
The heart of the Marshall 1987X is undoubtedly the two-channel Preamp with three ECC83 tubes. The normal and high treble channels deliver typical British tones ranging from sparkling cleans to full Overdrive with juicy midrange emphasis. To enjoy the full sound, the amp naturally offers the option to connect both channels via a patch cable and thus emulate the guitar heroes of the sixties and seventies. To customize the sound, the 1987X features a traditional 3-band tone stack and presence control.
The Marshall 1987X Head features a purist plexi panel for adjusting the sound.
Serial effects loop
As the only modernization Marshall gives the 1987X tube top a serial FX loop with adjustable level, which easily supports the connection of classic effect pedals and professional studio processors. Sound purists can completely remove the FX loop from the signal path thanks to True Bypass, and enjoy the pure Marshall Vintage sound.
EL34 power amp with 50 watts
The power amp of the Marshall 1987X Head draws up to 50 watts of power from two EL34 tubes so that the sonorous power amp saturation and its incomparable playing feel are available even at moderate volumes. For connecting speaker cabinets, the Guitar Amp offers two jack sockets and a selector switch for adjusting the impedance.
