The Marshall JCM 800 is without doubt one of the best-known and most influential tube amplifiers of all time. In the 1980s, it defined the sound of many rock and metal bands - from Slayer to Iron Maiden and Guns N' Roses - with its aggressive, assertive character. With the and Modified JCM800, this classic has been reissued and expanded with new features that meet modern demands - without losing the character of the original. The basis remains the single-channel design with 3-band tone control for bass, mids and treble. New functions such as the gain boost, which provides even more saturation, make the sound even more powerful. The switchable mid-boost also raises the mid-range and thus provides more assertiveness and definition - perfect for leads or tight rhythm sounds. The Tight switch reduces the low end and makes the sound tighter, ideal for precise playing with lots of gain or drop tunings.
Four EL34 power amp tubes and tremendous power with real Marshall bite
Everything inside remains the same as the original: with three ECC83 preamp tubes (incl. phase splitter) and four EL34 power amp tubes, the amp delivers a full 100 watts of power. The tone control with bass, middle, Treble and presence also behaves authentically and enables a variety of classic Marshall sounds - from distorted crunch tones to hot high-gain drive. Speaker outputs for 4, 8 and 16 ohms are also available so that the amp can be combined versatilely with different cabinets. The and Modified JCM 800 is manufactured in handcrafted quality in the UK, directly at Marshall's headquarters in Bletchley. This means that the amp is not only sonically but also qualitatively in the direct tradition of its legendary role model - only with more control, more tone shaping and more expressiveness for the requirements of modern musicians.
