The Ortofon Test Record is designed to test and optimize your hi-fi system in a natural home audio environment. On this test record you will find test signals specifically designed to analyze the performance of your cartridge and its interaction with your tonearm and turntable.
Before testing your cartridge, you should make sure that your hi-fi system is working properly. Both speakers should work in Phase and be optimally positioned in the room.
The test record is designed to be played through your system with built-in RIAA equalization. We recommend setting the volume control to a moderate level.
Please consult your turntable and tonearm manual to ensure correct installation and alignment. Ensure that the tonearm is parallel to the record surface and adjust the vertical tracking force and anti-skating according to the recommended specifications of your cartridge. Do not forget to adjust the stylus overhang.
