Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar from the PRS S2 Series (2016)
The Paul Reed Smith S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow is the successful variation of a true guitar classic and an absolute workhorse in every situation, whether live or in the studio. It is also well known and popular for its clarity and the balanced midrange of its resonance chamber, which is skilfully realized by two S2 #7 humbuckers in neck and bridge position. Last but not least, push/pull coil splits offer classic airy single coil sounds with a characteristic semi-hollow note.
Custom 22 with semi-hollow character
The semi-resonance body of the S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow is made of mahogany and finished with a flamed maple top, which provides insights into the resonance chamber of the Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar via the F-hole. Thanks to its 22-flush construction, the S2 #7 Bass Humbucker sits at the sweet spot of the second octave and delivers warm and vocal sounds up to the woman tone, especially when using the tone potentiometer. At the bridge, the S2 #7 Treble Humbucker provides classic overtone-rich sounds with classic bridge attack.
Solid PRS hardware
In combination with the patented PRS tremolo and the in-house S2 locking mechanisms, the S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow presents a successful and more than roadworthy hardware equipment. Vintage-style tremolo allows exact adjustment of string height and intonation, while mechanisms with locking function remain stable even with excessive tremolo use.
