The drums of Pearl's Masterworks series can be found on stages and in studios all over the world, and there are reasons for this. The Masterworks Drums offer professional drummers countless options for creating their own drums, tailored to their personal sound ideas, starting with the choice of woods, hardware, kettle thickness and burr up to the breathtaking finishes. The production of these high-end drums is a top priority at Pearl, so only the most experienced master craftsmen are entrusted with the production of the Masterworks boilers. It's not for nothing that Masterworks drums have been one of the most popular tools of the world's professionals for over 15 years.

The Masterworks boilers - each a small work of art in its own right

For the Masterworks boilers, the makers of Pearl use three different woods, namely maple, birch and mahogany. Depending on the size of the kettle, these very different and individual woods are combined with each other. Maple produces a very warm sound with a lot of punch, sustain and low end as well as moderate mid and high frequencies. Birch offers a pronounced treble range with strong attack and thus a powerful, short and assertive sound. Mahogany finally promotes strong, warm bass and a very soft midrange and rounds off the Masterwork sound downwards. This set comes with an undrilled maple bass drum, maple and birch tom toms and maple-mahogany floor toms. The thin boilers consist of a total of only 4 layers of wood and are given additional stability by reinforcing rings. The boiler burr is Pearl-typically pointed 45° and provides a perfect mixture of attack and warmth;

The hardware and the Masterworks Custom Finish

The "White Marbleized" finish is also hard to beat in exclusivity. The fine lines, seen from close up, merge at a distance into a real eye-catcher, which gives the drummer a strong optical presence. The kettle hardware of this 5-piece masterwork drum set is completely black except for the Golden Ratio air holes and fits perfectly into the overall picture.

Tom Toms and Floor Toms are equipped with lightweight "SuperHoop II" steel chip tyres so as not to impair the resonant sound of the thin boilers. The OptiMount tom suspensions provide a vibration-neutral mounting of the toms on the tom holders, so that the exclusive sound of the masterwork drums can unfold without restriction.
