The Sandberg California TT4 Passive MN Brownburst Satin from the Brunswick-based instrument forge impresses as a classically built E-Bass with variable sound and a coherent modern-vintage design. The four-stringer features an ash body and a six-ply maple neck with maple fingerboard, while two Sandberg Alnico single coils and classic passive circuitry handle the electrical tone conversion.
Traditional construction for the crisp sound
The bass builders from Braunschweig choose ash wood as the material for the body of the Sandberg California TT4 Passive, while the six-way bolt-on neck is made of maple with a maple fingerboard. Accordingly, the 4-string E-Bass convinces with a crisp basic sound, whose precise sound development and long Sustain provide the perfect foundation for any style of music. With its comfortably designed C-profile, the neck nestles in the hand when playing E-Bass, so that even complex basslines can be implemented with ease on the slim fretboard.
Traditional sound diversity through single coils and passive circuitry.
For the electrical sound conversion, Sandberg equips the California TT4 Passive with two Sandberg Alnico single coil pickups, which elicit a versatile sound spectrum with pleasant vintage warmth from the bass amplifier. While the midrange pickup promises a full sound with deep bass foundation and the perfect dose of transparency, the bridge pickup delivers a midrange-emphasized sound with high assertiveness. The pickup of the California TT4 Passive are controlled classically by means of passive electronics consisting of blend and volume controls as well as a general treble slider.
Sophisticated Hardware from our own house
The hardware equipment of the Sandberg California TT4 Passive MN Brownburst Satin comes from the own house and presents itself with thoughtful functionality. The solidly built Sandberg Bridge 4 ensures an even tone and sustain unfolding, at the same time, thanks to the three-dimensionally adjustable tailpieces, not only intonation and string action can be perfectly adjusted, but also the string spacing can be adjusted to personal taste. At the headstock, the strings run over zero fret and saddle to the Sandberg Machine Heads, which convince with absolute tuning stability and counteract head heaviness through their low Gewicht.
