The Tie Studio TUR88 USB Desktop Microphone Pro allows you to make recordings quickly and easily, whilst also functioning as a high-quality output for your headphones to minimise latency to 0 while recording. In addition there is the high audio resolution of 96kHz and 24-bit, guaranteeing high quality audio conversion when recording.
The TUR88 features 3x capsules alongside 4x pickup patterns to choose from (cardioid, omni-directional, figure-of-8 and stereo), allowing a wealth of recording options from music and voice-over to podcasts, and the built-in stereo mode allows it to act as a room mic for live demos or for some separation between sources.

I wanted a USB microphone for better voice quality during video conferencing sessions. I am also a home recording enthusiast, so I was attracted to the Tie TUR88 rather than a simple unit such as the Blue Yeti or Meteor, as it is a multi-pattern three-capsule condenser microphone, offering omni, cardioid, stereo and figure-of-eight. This should allow some useful versatility in the home studio. So far I have only used it for its intended purpose, videoconferencing, and it does the job very well. Sound is clear and even. Physically the microphone is large and solid, and the button and knobs feel firm. There is no elastic cradle, just a heavy metal "U" stand, so take care to avoid making vibrations in your desk. Only one small gripe: there is a headphone output for direct monitoring, which can also play audio (unlike some), and there is a low-level sound in the background. This sound is not transmitted or recorded, it's only audible when monitoring. It's barely audible but I thought I should mention it. I am very satisfied so far and definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a versatile USB microphone.
