The TritonAudio FetHead is an in-line pre-amp for dynamic mics. The FetHead is a low-noise, high quality, in-line microphone preamplifier that provides improved sound for Ribbon and Dynamic microphones. The electronics are housed in a robust metal chassis with a balanced 3-pole female XLR input and a balanced 3-pole male XLR output, rugged for use at home, in the studio or on tour.
This is a regular version of the FetHead for Ribbon and Dynamic microphones. The FetHead has a high quality, low noise signal amplification that also extends the usable range of a ribbon microphone, making it more suitable for recording softer passages. Its circuit uses phantom power but shields it from its input (and the microphone's output). As a result it offers effective protection to the microphone.

Tritonaudio FetHeadI bought this to boost the level on an SM57, so that I wouldn't have to crank the gain on the pre-amp (which in turn raised the noise floor). The FeHead simply plugs into the mic, no extra cables needed, and instantly the mic needed a fraction of the gain, so no hiss on quieter sources!
The unit itself is solidly built, and comes in a cloth bag, which in turn is inside a solid card 'smartie' tube.
This is one of those things you don't know you need until you have it, then you can't live without it.
I couldn't ask more from this item. It delivers what it promises and the sound quality of the amplified signal is unbeatable. I definitely recommend it over!
Needed to raise output of an old AKG mic to a Scarlett 2i2. Now only need to advance gain two thirds. No noise and no change to sound quality
