Prerequisite for easy handling and fast playability of the MIJ Wolfgang is the processing of the tonewoods according to Eddie Van Halen's own specifications. The lime body has a maple top and is bound with 5-ply binding. The Wolfgang signature maple neck has a satin urethane finish and fits comfortably in the hand with ebony fingerboard and 12" to 16" rising compound radius. Rounding out the electric guitar is its Matte Satin finish in Cream White
The electrical tone conversion of the EVH Wolfang Ivory is handled by two EVH Wolfgang humbuckers. With their hot output and balanced reproduction across all frequencies, these pickups deliver a fat rock sound that makes every solo sing with endless sustain. At the same time, the precise attack and perfect string separation make for a tight rhythm sound, and zebra pickup covers provide a stark contrast. The pickups are controlled via a 3-way toggle switch as well as general volume and tone controls that have different rotary resistances. For example, the extra-smooth Volume pot allows for smooth tone adjustments, while the slower Tone pot can prevent unwanted adjustments.
