The American manufacturer Evans caused a sensation in the 1980s with its Hydraulic Red skins. 2016 Hydraulic Red skins find their way back into the Evans range and provide fat, deep and extremely short sounds as they are still in demand in rock music today. The special feature of Evans hydraulic skins is a thin oil film inside the two plastic skins.
The Evenas Hydraulic Red drumheads have special sound characteristics due to a special construction. Between the 7 mil thick layers of mylar there is a thin oil film. It makes the Evans Hydraulic Red Furs extremely durable at first, but it also makes the sound deep, short, fat and with incredible attack and low bass - inspired by the sound of the golden era of rock music in the 70s.
It is well known that Evans Hydraulic skins are quite easy to tune and ideal for unruly boilers and drummers who are just beginning to learn drums and therefore have even less experience in tuning drums. With these skins every set sounds deep and massive!
