Flame Curves is an analog sequencable frequency filter bank in Euro rack format. The twelve-channel filter bank is controlled by a pattern player programmable with a software editor (Win/Mac). An external clock is required by the module to function in pattern mode. A reset input allows jumping to the starting point of the active Sequenz . The module has memory for up to 99 patterns, the active pattern is shown on a display and can be selected with two selection keys.
In sequencer mode, the envelope potentiometer controls the AR envelope, the variation knob adds random velocity and release, and the fill potentiometer controls the level of all channels. If the module is in manual mode, the variation potentiometer can be used to select different filter types (Allpass, Lowpass, Bandpass 1-3 and Highpass). The fill knob allows the twelve filter belts to pass through. With the Envelope slider you can smooth the curves between the bands by adding a second band next to the selected one. This makes the change much more fluid
The twelve frequency bands are divided into even and odd bands. These can be fed in separately via different inputs and picked up via different outputs. Among other things, interesting stereo effects can be created by patching the even and odd bands in the stereo room in opposite directions. The ALL output has a Dry/Wet control and a level potentiometer.
The module has a direct audio output and a dedicated VCA input for each filter channel. Gates, triggers or envelopes can be fed to different filter bands VCA to play them independently. Additional CV inputs allow you to modulate envelope, variation and fill parameters as well as pattern numbers.
