Semi-Hollow electric guitar with Guild HB-2 pickups and vibrato tailpiece
The semi-acoustic Guild Starfire I DC Pelham Blue is the ideal electric guitar for blues and rock thanks to its comfortable playability and crisp sound. This Guild uses classic construction techniques and features a laminated mahogany body with a feedback-resistant center block and a rosewood fretboard on a glued mahogany neck. The flat "Modern Thin U" profile with 42.9 mm nut width guarantees extremely nimble handling. When playing through an amp, two Guild HB-2 humbuckerswith classic output provide airy, responsive sounds with a lively midrange that brings the riffs and licks of blues or rock to life. Last but not least, classic hardware in the form of Tune-O-Matic bridge, vibrato tailpiece and open-gear tuners are featured on the Guild Starfire I DC Pelham Blue.
The Guild Starfire I DC Pelham Blue is a classically built semi-hollow electric guitar with premium sounds for blues and rock.
I’ve been waiting for this guitar to be available through my local dealer for 4 months, finally I was able to get it from Music Store and did not hesitate. Very nice looking Is not perfect But is pretty close to it.. PROS -The sound is great, the neck pickup has this really heavy bass that feel great -The bridge pickup is bright and strong , both sound very good in splitcoil mode too. -Tuners are great, work pretty well and the whole system (runners, nut, bridge, etc..) is very stable even with some heavy bending . F-holes are ver nicely cut and finished -Knobs are fast -The neck feel amazing , great “thin U shape” -Amazing sustain -Great for practicing unplugged (because it has a lot of sound to it)
CONS -The posts for the tail piece and bridge are not completely flush but I guess that might have to do with the fact that’s this top is arched. -The edges of the frets are ok but the frets them selves don’t come polished enough and the strings make this irritating noise when you bend them over the frets. -There is one or two places where if you look very, very, very closely you’ll find small imperfections in the binding -The buttons for the volume an tone look feel very cheap. -The only flaw that I can see that is kind of a serious one is that the tone pots don’t have any sweep to them (AT ALL), they are either on OR off.
I guess this is it…I love it (to bad the pots dot responde good a

I play bass, but I’m occasionally called on to play rhythm guitar, particularly in a church setting. I bought this for its size (comfortable to strum, but not heavy or bulky) and for its versatility (the split coil gives so many sound options). In addition, I’ve been really pleased with its looks - the colour is a deep, rich, “woody” red: not at all brash or plasticy. The tone (unplugged) is fabulous, and through a practice amp it’s naturally clear & bright. Overdriven, it’s therefore easy to control your sound - unlike some semi-hollows, more gain doesn’t have to mean a muddy sound. The setup out of the box was ok, though the action was a bit high for me. But it’s a quality guitar, so even I have managed to adjust it with no problems. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but even after a couple of weeks I’ve really warmed to it - it has personality, style and grace.
