The Instruo Cš-L at a glance
The Cš-L is an analog Dual oscillator optimized for generating complex waveforms, generating sounds far beyond the capabilities of traditional subtractive synthesis. The two oscillators can also be used separately from each other and differ significantly in their features. The upper tone generator is based on a Sawtooth Core and generates the waveforms pulse, sine, triangle, sawtooth and final; the lower oscillator B is based on the Triangle Core and generates dual pulses, sine (optional SubVCO), triangle, sawtooth and final. The two wavefolders have the same structure and each uses the sine waveform of the respective oscillator. The number of wave folds and their symmetry can be controlled. There are control voltage inputs for both parameters, Wavefold even has its own attenuator for even more precise modulations. The sonic bandwidth is very rich, ranging from subtle overtone enhancement to total spectral devastation. Both tone generators are also capable of pulse width modulation, oscillator B offers a special sound with Double-Pulse. To achieve interactions between the two oscillating circuits you don't need any cables at first, because Sinus is internally cross-normalized. A toggle switch selects between linear and exponential FM. Other waveforms can be integrated via patch cable. With Index FM modulation is achieved via VCA control; no matter whether via envelope, LFO or Velocity from the CV/Gate interface, the modulation only takes place when an external CV releases it. Last but not least, the module is equipped with a four-quadrant multiplier, which is nothing less than a ring modulator. So much functionality in a dual oscillator is rarely found!
