Four-band parametric EQ
The Midas 512 V2 is a fully parametric four-band equalizer characterized by its precision and warm, organic soundbased on the renowned Midas Heritage 3000 console. This API 500 format module offers exceptional sound shaping capability with four overlapping bands that allow for detailed customization of signals. Each band offers fully variable frequency and gain settings controlled by precise dual-concentric controls. The Q controls on all four bands allow fine-tuning of the bandwidth, which is particularly useful for processing feedback-prone signals or adding punch and presence to instruments and vocals.
The Midas 512 V2's bass and treble bands can be switched between shelving and bandpass filters, while the mid-bands offer wide frequency coverage from 100 Hz to 8 kHz. The Midas 512 V2 also has a switchable true bypass and features an electronically balanced input stage that is extremely low noise and offers an impressive common mode rejection of -70dB at 1kHz, as well as a high-performance balanced output for trouble-free operation with long audio cables.
It's a good equalizer. Considering the price any remarks don't matter much. For me the only thing that surprised me is the absence of hi / lo pass filters. I guess Midas preamp is equipped with them -- still for the unit itself it reduces it's functionality, so one star less. I think Im going to buy a couple more of them.
