With the NS4FX, the company Numark sends a new 4-deck controller with balanced XLR outputs into the race. Using 4 independent channels, DJs can perfectly control tracks, samples and loops with a volume fader, 3-band EQ and a high/low-pass filter on each. The touch-sensitive 6-inch jog wheels have been calibrated for precise mixing and scratching. A dynamic LED display is located on each of the jog wheels , showing track position, pitch range, BPM and runtime. The layer button allows quick switching to the parent or child deck. The dedicated loop section with multipliers for each deck allows you to quickly and effectively get in on the action, extending favorite parts of a song to your liking. The toggle switches can be used to activate one of 6 different software effects (HPF, LPF, Flanger, Echo,
The Numark NS4 FX has so-called effect toggles that allow the selected effect to be activated impulsively or permanently for the respective deck. Above the toggle section are two more knobs that allow the intensity and timing of the effects to be adjusted individually. With Serato DJ Lite, there are six effects to choose from: High-pass filter, low-pass filter, flanger, echo, reverb or phaser.
The mixer section of the Numark - NS4 FX is oriented towards the current club standard and offers all common functions, such as gain control, 3-band equalizer, pre-listening function and low/high-pass filter. All line faders can also be assigned to the built-in crossfader to customise the mixer layout for scratching and creative work.
The dedicated performance pads can be used to control many functions that go beyond the capabilities of Serato DJ Lite and require an upgrade to Serato DJ Pro with more features. With Serato DJ Lite, the following functions are available: Cue Points, Auto Loop, Fader Cuts and Sample Slots.
The jogwheel display provides a lot of essential information that DJs can use to orient themselves without having to constantly look at the computer. The current deck, the track position, the current BPM value, the status of the keylock function, the pitch range, the current pitch, the direction in which the pitch fader must be moved and the elapsed playback time of the track are always in focus.

This is my first DJ controller, i went with something i thought would not need to upgrade for a few years.
This has 4 decks so i should be okay for a while.
It works perfectly well, for the most part.
I don't think the drivers are very stable. My Windows 10 computer (Which i run my studio setup on, Ableton/Reaper, VSTs, RME interface) has started reacting oddly since i set the controller up, and installed Serato DJ Lite. Serato may be the problem, but it is difficult to tell. I have had one or two hard freezes and had to quit Serato and turn the controller off.
This computer has been rock solid until now, i use it for audio work all the time.
Other than these few crashes, when the controller is working it is great. The jog wheels feel solid and they're easy to use. The screens in the wheels are brilliant. All knobs and faders feel solid and well made (except for the crossfader, but i won't be using that personally).
For the price i think this is a worthwhile purchase.
Remember that to upgrade Serato Lite to the Pro version with any expansions will cost several hundred pounds.
Factor that in when deciding which controller to purchase.
