With the PRS Sonzera 20 Combo Paul Reed Smith presents a versatile full tube combo that sounds much bigger than its a price. The two-channel 20-watt combo, whose name derives from the Portuguese word for a particularly cool sound, impresses with a straightforward operating concept that quickly finds the right sound between blues, rock, jazz and metal. In addition, the PRS Sonzera has a reverb effect and a serial loop path.
The two-channel preamplifier of the PRS Sonzera 20 Combo uses one JJ ECC83 and three 12AX7 tubes and, thanks to the clean and gain channels, provides a wide range of sounds for every musical style from blues, rock, jazz and metal. The Clean channel offers a 2-band tone control for bass and treble to adjust the sound, while the sound of the gain channel can be precisely adjusted via 3-band tone control and bright switch. In addition, a Presence control for determining the treble reproduction in the output stage and a Hall effect are available for both channels.
The 20-watt Paul Reed Smith Sonzera 20 Combo draws sufficient volume reserves from two 6L6GC power amp tubes for use in the rehearsal room and at the next club gig. The 12" speaker and a slight increase of the bass foundation in the power amp promise a particularly powerful sound, which puts every sound played in the best vintage-amp tradition with plastic depth into the room. External speakers can also be connected if required.
