5-String E-Bass with unique Rust Finish
The Sandberg California TM5 RW Rust Finish with serial number 42314 is a very special one-of-a-kind from the Brunswick bass manufactory. While the elaborately created rust finish gives the five-string a unique look, the 35" long scale length (889 mm) and the Delano Pickups connected with an active 2-band tone control provide extremely powerful and tight bass sounds between rock and metal, which also reproduce the low B-string with crisp precision. The Offset-Design of the alder body and the pleasantly flat C-profile of the roasted and six-screw maple neck also promise excellent playing characteristics from the highest to the lowest register.
The Sandberg California TM5 RW Rust Finish is a unique electric bass with eye-catching looks, first-class handling and extremely powerful sound.
The toasted and six-ply maple neck of the California TM5 Rust offers buttery smooth playing characteristics in all registers.
Extra long scale length and roasted neck
Beneath the antique rust finish, the California TM5 hides a modern construction with extra-long 35" scale length (889 mm) that pays special attention to a crisp sound and first-class playing characteristics. Thanks to the slightly asymmetrical offset design with generous contours on the front and back, the alder body not only rests comfortably on the body, but also takes a balanced playing position both on the strap and on the thigh. Due to the flat C-profile with just 20 mm of roasted maple under the first fret, the bombproof six-bolt neck promises easy playability of all layers of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
Delano JMVC and MCFE pickups, together with an active 2-band tone control, provide diverse bass sounds with precise representation of the H-string.
Delano pickups with active EQ
As electric sound converters for the California TM5 Rust Sandberg chooses two proven pickup from Delano. In middle position a hum-free Delano JMVC Single Coil with XL Pole-Pieces promises a fast responding and transparent sound with deep basses, warm radiating mids and a brilliant sparkle in the highs. The powerful Delano MCFE humbucker on the bridge, also equipped with XL Pole-Pieces, on the other hand, provides punchy power sounds on the bass amplifier that make themselves felt in the pit of your stomach with stable lows and growling midrange presence. Through the coil split option, the pickup can also elicit civilized single coil sounds with wiry assertiveness. and to be able to adjust the sound precisely to your own ideas, Sandberg also equips the California TM5 Rust bass guitar with an active 2-band EQ.
Sandberg Machine Heads with artificially aged nickel plating guarantee an exact and stable tuning of the California TM5 Rust.
Sandberg Hardware in Aged nickel look
Last but not least, Sandberg equips the California TM5 RW Rust Finish with its own popular Hardware, whose aged-nickel look creates a harmonious contrast to the rust-brown Finish. With three-dimensionally adjustable tailpieces, the solidly built Sandberg Bridge 5 promises optimal adjustment of intonation as well as string action and spacing, even when the Bass is used for harder music styles with powerful strings and deep tunings. Behind the nut and zero fret, which gives the empty played strings the same tonal character as the picked notes, lightweight Sandberg Machine Heads also ensure accurate and robust tuning of the electric bass guitar.
