Other than the small adjustment of previous new introductions, the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive 2015 can be called a complete rebirth with sensational improvements. The biggest difference is the switch from birch to maple. Maple sounds warmer than birch and has a very balanced treble to mids ratio with solid bass. For the optimal sound, the Superstar tom shells and the snare shell come with 6 plies of maple with a strength of 5mm and the bassdrum comes with 8 plies and 7mm thickness. Another great new feature is the new aluminum Star-Cast mounting system from the high end Starclassic series for improved resonance. The Black Nickel hardware gives the set a very cool look.

Despite all the changes, the traditional flair has been kept alive. The Superstar Custom Hyperdrive is exactly that, a superstar among drumkits. The stylish Sound Bridge High Tension lugs are still a part of the 2015 Superstar series and provide incredibly reliable and simple tuning. The package is completed by the high end cast hoops that guarantee perfect positioning of the included Power Craft II head. Like the name suggests, the Superstar Hyperdrive set still comes with the flat shells for easy positioning and the cutting sound with a lot of attack. Breathtaking finishes, lacquers or wraps, give the Tama Superstar kits a great look.

Complete professional hardware package

Just like the predecessors, the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive comes with a complete hardware package consisting of two boom cymbal stands, a snare stand, a hihat stand as well as an Iron Cobra pedal. All hardware pieces have double braced legs and are extremely solid.
