As a long time rhythm acoustic guitar player, I've always used medium flexible picks. Recently took up playing lead e-guitar though, and my flexible picks weren't getting the job done. A friend suggested I try jazz player picks because they are thick and non flexible, and more accurate. But I've been using a 351 standard pick forever. The jazz picks are tiny. Then I found these. I'd heard about the tonal properties of bone and horn before and decided to give it a try. Outstanding!! the right size and shape of a 351, and very solid. Plus the smooth horn strikes the string and immediately releases it. Great attack on the strings, without popping from pulling the strings. And if like me, the pick sometimes slides around in your hand or you drop it, these stay put in your hand. I've seen lots of gimmicks to try and prevent this problem, including sandpaper on the grip portion of a pick. Its not necessary with these. You won't drop it, and it won't slide around and turn in your fingers. I don't know why. After trying these for a couple of hours, I decided I won't go back to synthetic and flexible picks. Price is a little steep at first, but it's definitely worth it. I'm constantly losing picks somewhere. But so far, not these! If you play lead or blues, step up to the plate and splurge! You will be glad you did!
