After Later Audio's 1U Flip is a so-called Bernoulli gate and is based on the Mutable Instruments branches. The main task of the module in Intellijel 1U format is to distribute incoming triggers, Gate and Clock signals based on probability. As soon as a signal arrives, the module tosses a coin to decide whether to output the signal to output A or B. This means that it is possible for a signal to be output multiple times. So it is possible that a signal reaches the same output several times in a row.
Toggle mode and latch mode
The arbitrariness of the toggle can be limited with the voltage-controllable knob; in maximum position the respective channel acts like flipflop switches. In toggle mode, the result (A or B) is linked to further decisions such as "continue sending the trigger to the same output as before" and "send the trigger to the opposite output". If the latch mode is activated, one output A or B remains at +5V until the other output is activated. The two sections are built identically, the input of channel 1 is normalized to channel 2, this allows more complex patches based on one signal, otherwise, the channels can, of course, be patched separately.
