Over 25 years of experience
The BAD8 converter is an 8-channel analog-to-digital daughter card for the B80 or B16 Mothership and the result of BurlAudio's over 25 years of AD converter design experience. Following the overwhelming success of the B2 Bomber ADC and BAD4 converter card, the BAD8 uses a revised signal path and performs high class analog-to-digital conversion. The BAD8 features a no-compromise design with a fully discrete transistor Class A circuit and the proprietary BX1 input transformer.
The converter that behaves like a tape machine
The BAD8 benefits from an adaptation of the BX1 transformer that allows higher channel density, and thus up to 8 channels of DA conversion. It also features the latest analog-to-digital conversion technology, which makes for great sound with lots of detail and amazingly low latency. Since the input stage provides slightly less headroom than the converter, it is possible with the BAD8 to drive the input stage into saturation similar to analog tape, thus obtaining a pleasantly condensed and musical sound.
