The dbx DI4 is a multi-channel DI box with line mixer that is ideally suited for studio and stage use. The dbx DI4 can convert unbalanced signals (2-pin - jack/cinch) into balanced signals (3-pin - XLR). Such an adjustment is necessary to connect signals from sources such as high impedance instruments (guitar, bass) directly to the microphone input of a live mixer or audio interface. The input signal can be attenuated/reduced by -20 dB and -40 dB per channel to avoid distortion during overdriving. There are earthing switches on each channel to avoid ground loops. Each channel also has a panorama control and a volume control for the line mixer. They can be used to mix the input channels together. The dbx DI4 can be connected directly to an amplifier and the line mix can be monitored via the headphone output. The dbx DI4 has a master volume control to adjust the overall volume of the line mixer and headphone amplifier.
