I picked up this snare trigger pad for my e-kit, as it supported positional sensing and had the standard 14" size. Really nice, out of the box, but then I quickly noticed that the resonant bottom head was not properly seated.. had to take it off fully to center it. Also, the top inner rim (below where the mesh head sits), seems uneven, like deeper in one part of the shell and shallower in another. I don't know if that is the intended design.
12 lugs! Insane. Takes forever to loosen the heads and re-adjust, plus the lug screws are so short since the shell is only 3.5" deep... hard to finger-tighten. But, what a beautiful snare pad.
Aside from all that, it triggers really nicely, head-wise. The rubber rim does not accurately get cross-stick hits (when resting the hand on the mesh head). So, I removed the rubber rim and now get perfect cross-sticking, even though the acoustic noise is greater.
All in all, very happy with my purchase. Was considering a Drum-Tec but the price is double... I paid $300 USD shipped from Germany, and it arrived in 5 days. FAST shipping.
Will be buying from MusicStore.com in the future!!
Thanks again!
