It is an advanced synth so you have to read the complete manual and play with it some time to get to know it. I am using it for making techno music and the sounds i get from it are fantastic, its a fun instrument , buy it !
Yes, it is on a pricey side but what you get is a really good tool for music production. In every composition you make you can use FOUR analog synthesizers (each one has 2vco 2subs). All sound settings, all automation, all effects can be saved and recalled instantly.
When purchasing I read a couple times about lack of "fat" in the sound of A4. People were complaining about clinical sound. When you open A4 presets sometimes sound quite clinical but for example they are still much warmer than Nord A1. It is possible to make sounds very fat/analog with use of very good quality filters, sub oscilators, oscilator drifting (!), noise generators.
All in all its a perfect tool for contemporaty electronic music, hiphop etc.
The instrument is amazing.
The sounds are live ( as analog ought to be ) the modulation possibilities are vast and this gives you the ability to create complex sounds .
The build in fx are also good , and perfect for live gigs .
You find yourself creating interesting sound patterns right away..
The interface is ok and you will get accustomed to ti quickly.
The build quality is very good with metallic case
I certainly would recommend this instrument to anyone looking for a good fully-featured analo synth.
