With the Ibanez standard RGA742FM-DEF Dragon Eye Burst Flat, Ibanez presents a 7-string electric guitar for rock and metal, with a trendy finish, high playing comfort and versatile sounds. The electric guitar has a mahogany body that not only carries a chic maple top, but with its wide cutaways allows unimpeded access to all positions of the "Wizard III" neck. In addition, Ibanez Quantum humbuckers provide differentiated rock and metal sounds on the amplifier, while high-quality hardware guarantees long-lasting playing pleasure.
The Ibanez standard RGA742FM skilfully combines a chic look with contemporary playing comfort. The slender mahogany body carries a top made of curly maple whose intense flame is accentuated by the transparent sunburst finish. The wide cutaways also allow unimpeded access to the high positions of the screwed maple neck, which is held in the extremely fast "Wizard III" profile and thus offers the ideal basis for complex riffs and virtuoso solos on all seven strings.
Two Ibanez Quantum humbuckers in the neck and bridge position are used as pickups on the Ibanez Standard RGA742FM-DEF Dragon Eye Burst Flat. Equipped with powerful ceramic magnets, these pickups deliver differentiated sounds for modern rock and metal that don't lose their contour even on the low H-string. The bridge humbucker convinces with its aggressive sound, which prevails in the band sound with a laser-focused mid-spectrum, while the neck pickup allows every note to be sung with smooth sustain. The pickups are managed by a 3-way blade switch as well as master volume and master tone controls.
High-quality hardware equipment that guarantees unlimited playing pleasure completes the Ibanez standard RGA742FM. The Ibanez Fixed Bridge sits accordingly on the body, which supports a fast attack by guiding the strings through the body. Seven individually adjustable string adjusters guarantee a perfectly adjusted intonation and a comfortable string position. From the bridge, the 25.5" scale (648 mm) guides the strings towards the headstock, on which Ibanez tuners ensure a precise and stable tuning of the electric guitar.
The guitar is well built as expected from Ibanez, i tried a few models and decided on an RGA, mostly because i like the arch top, i dont like the hard edges of the RG models and while the body shape of the S series fits me well and the hardwars is much the same , the S series guitars are super thin.....
This particular guitar i had to return as there is a tiny dent on the neck by the first fret but there models are mass produced so somtimes a few small imperfections slip through the net.....
i must say the guitar was very well 'set up' and played great out of the box.
To be honest i have not plugged it into an amp as i am returning it so didn't wan't to remove the plastic covering the pickups so i cannot review the sound but i gave 5 stars anyway because it's an Ibanez!
There is one small 'smudge' on the front so i gave 4 stars for 'optic'....
The guitar is well made and other than the tiny dent on the neck
