Felix Lehrmann introduces the PDP Concept Maple Series
PDP CM5 Kit from the Concept Maple Series with Remo Heads and STM Mount
The PDP Concept Maple CM5 Shell Set Satin Seafoam is a compact five piece drum set including Remo heads. The shells are made of 100% maple and produce a warm and resonant sound that can be used in many modern music styles. High quality shell hardware such as True Pitch tension screws, Dual Turret tensioning lugs and triple flanged steel tension hoops round out the shells. The Suspension Tom Mount (STM Mount) and the cast tensioning claws for the bass drum meet professional demands. Equipped with Remo heads and a state-of-the-art FinishPly outer layer in matte color, the PDP Concept Maple Series offers excellent pro features and a hip appearance. A tom holder is included. The CM5 version comes with a matching 10-ply snare drum. As with almost all PDP snares, the Concept Maple series also features the world-famous DW Mag ThrowOff, an absolute highlight in this price range.

The name Concept Maple already gives it away: All shells are made entirely of maple and feature seven layers of wood. This is supported by another concept already known from DW, the Graduated Counter Hoops. Here the diameter of the hoop is adapted to the size of the shell. This means that the thickness of the hoop is adjusted to the size of the shell, so smaller toms are not unnecessarily constricted while larger shells get the stronger hoop they need to focus the sound. A concept adopted from parent company DW is FinishPly. Here, the foil on the outside of the shell is factored into the sound-defining shell design, and the foil is burred like the rest of the wood plies. The result is that the FinishPly outer layer makes the sound of the shells more concise and shorter.
