The
The construction of the Sandberg California VT4 MN Metallic Red Hardcore Aged Reserve follows the proven specifications of an electric bass. The Brunswick bass builders manufacture the body from thermally treated alder, while the neck is made of maple and screwed sixfold to the body. Accordingly, when played dry, the bass convinces with a bright primary tone, whose nimble sound development and even sustain provide the perfect basis for driving bass lines. The neck has a comfortably shaped "C" profile and a flat fretboard radius, leaving enough space for the strings to be played with ease.
The electrical sound conversion of the Sandberg California VT4 is accomplished by a Delano T-Style single coil at the bridge and a Delano V-Style split coil in the middle position. Thanks to these two, this 4-string delivers a wide range of classic bass sounds with clearly audible vintage nuances, ranging from the wiry, transparent assertive tone of the single coil to the growling low-middle thrust of the split coil. The fat steel poles of the pickups give the sound a smooth attack and a soft, natural compression that carries every groove. To further adjust the sound character, an active 2-band EQ is provided, whose excellent tuning always promises musical sound experiences, even at extreme settings.
High quality Sandberg hardware completes the features of the Sandberg California VT4 The bridge used is the solidly built Sandberg Bridge 4, whose mass has a positive effect on the sustain and sound development of the four-string. Its three-dimensionally adjustable string saddles allow for perfect adjustment of intonation and string position as well as the adjustment of the string spacing. At the head plate the strings are guided over the zero fret and nut before they are held by the light Sandberg Machine Heads. These convince with their precise operation, which promises precise and especially stable tuning.
Fantastic bass, great quality. It is Pink! But worth it for the sound and playability. Great Sandberg product.
