The SPH90-1 by Seymour Duncan is an authentic reproduction of the classic P-90 sounds. Just like its archetype, the Phat Cat is a single coil beneath a humbucker cover and provides a juicy tone. Two Alnico 2 magnets bring a good amount of sustain and a rather soft attack.
The neck version is reverse-wound and comes with a reversed polarity to cancel out humming noise when combined with the SPH90B on the bridge.
Ideal for country, jazz and blues to classic and heavy rock!

I started with just one of these in the neck position to replace the original humbucker on my SG. That was so good I decided to change the bridge humbucker too. What a transformation: I have never really got on too well with the sound of bridge pickups but this one is just great.
While restoring a battered Gibson es135 I decided to swap out the neck Humbucker for a Phat Cat. Wow!
The quality of the finish, the fit and the sound are amazing! The sound is incredibly defined & clear, plus it gets dirty when driven. It was a big gamble for me to take but fortunately well worth it!
