The Arturia KeyStep 37
With the KeyStep 37Arturia introduces the further development of the successful KeyStep. The 37-key keyboard of the USB/DAW controller is velocity sensitive and has aftertouch. Also new is the LED above each keyboard key, which light up when playing in but also when playing the internal sequencer or notes from a DAW track. The sequencer itself is monophonic or polyphonic programmable, can have a step length of up to 64 steps and can also overdub if needed; eg. and replace notes or add more. The four knobs are organized in four banks and are thus assignable to up to 16 parameters. The internal arpeggiator retains its functionality and is adjusted with its own knobs, just like its predecessor. In addition, the chord mode has been significantly expanded: the four knobs are used to tune the held chord. Thanks to the selectable scales, the KeyStep 37 covers a range of scales that move outside of 12-tone music and are also user-definable. On the connection side, the ArturiaKeyStep 37 leaves nothing to be desired: analog outputs for CV, Gate and Mod, MIDI In/Out, an input for a sustain pedal, Sync In/Out (e.g. for Teenage Engineering PO series) and of course USB.
Arturia KeyStep 37 Review // 6 tips and generative ideas // Full tutorial
Keyboard arrived within the time slot provided by DHL. Keyboard was well packaged. After seeing some YT Reviews of the Keystep 37 I decided to upgrade from my Keystep, having had so much fun/Inspiration from the Keystep. Gonna have even more fun with this one..
Love the product, great key bed, good key velocity and after touch. Just wish it had some sliders or knobs for the DAWs to pickup, not many, 4 would have done, but sadly not. But still I find it a far better product that NI's M32.
