Bärenreiter Wenn das Notenhuhn ein Ei legt …

Piano school for children

Bärenreiter Wenn das Notenhuhn ein Ei legt ... is a child-oriented beginner's school for piano and presents an optimal compromise between a classical approach and pedagogical elements. Beginners get started with the black keys, while musical notation is introduced after a while of playing. The focus is particularly on rhythmic playing, so that children are given a feeling for pulse and meter, because this in particular is the key to successful, impressive music-making.

The content is taught in a practical way using playing pieces in the form of new compositions by the author, as well as children's and folk songs from all over the world and small blues, boogie and dance pieces. In the end, the up-and-coming pianists will be able to play pieces in the range of two octaves, to lead the hands parallel and opposite and to play simple melodies with accompaniment. In addition, they are able to over- and underplay, are familiar with changes of position, and have practiced scales. Music theory knowledge now includes note reading and knowledge of note values and musical symbols.

The edition is rounded out with appealing illustrations that incorporate chickens and woodpeckers into the notation of melodies and rhythms in a way that is easy to understand.
