Defender's MIDI 5 2D
is a heavy-duty, all-round cable bridge with 3D laser-grip non-slip surface made from black recycled polyurethane. The middle section of the newly developed Defender 2D M modular system can be extended and combined in any way, both lengthwise and widthwise, with the addition of a flat ramp.
In recent years, the issue of accessibility has become increasingly important for event organizers and authorities. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise between barrier-free access and driveability often had to be made. With the new Defender MIDI 5 2D this is different: a completely accessible and at the same time barrier-free ramp with a 6° gradient is attached to each centre section. The flat gradient makes it easy for wheelchair users to cross it effortlessly and is also stable enough to be driven over by forklifts and trucks.
The system can be extended in length and width as required. Effortless accessibility and safety is thus also guaranteed in areas where five channels are not sufficient, e.g. near power generators or the FOH. Sound, light and power cables can be laid individually, effortlessly and safely. The completely symmetrical design of the middle sections makes installation easier and you never have to search for the right attachment again. Even precise assembly plans are not necessary. Thanks to this symmetry, optimum stability in longitudinal and transverse direction can be achieved by laying middle parts and ramps in a half composite, while at the same time eliminating lost parts such as adapters and bones. The connections have been designed in such a way that they have enough clearance for easy assembly and still offer sufficient stability. If the cable bridges are to be installed without ramps, adapters are available for connecting the middle parts in longitudinal direction.
