Electric lap steel with mahogany body, Epiphone 500B "Blade" humbucker and deluxe gigbag
Epiphone presents the Electar inspired by "Century Lap Steel Outfit" from 1939, a unique re-release of the Hawaiian lap steel guitar in art deco style. Like the vintage original, the 1939 Electar Century Lap Steel has a one-piece mahogany body and an ebony finish neck. For non-slip support, there is also a rubber cover on the back.
The fretboard is equipped with plexiglass and 28 frets to ensure a clean intonation in every register. A rotary potentiometer is available for individual adjustment of volume and sound.

The Epiphone 1939 Electar Century Lap Steel in video
No previous experience with lap steel, but my research led me to this instrument. Not bad at all for a starter. Perhaps a bit weak pickup, but it sounds fine in my Blackstar 5W amp on the drive channel. The description says a blade humbucker, but I believe it is a bass pickup. I removed the bracket over the pickup, as it is easier to palm mute without it. I consider some thicker strings when I have figured out what’s the best for my need. My style are blues, so open G are my preferred tuning.
