Genelec 9320A in action
The heart of UNIO
The Genelec 9320A is a reference controller for controlling the new UNIO platform from Genelec. It combines the GLM (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager) software, with which all models of the Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) family can be configured, and the'Aural ID' technology, which can be used to set up a personalized headphone experience.
Features
The 9320A controller offers a physical user interface with haptic feedback. This allows, for example, the GLM graphical user interface to be hidden on the desktop while working on the 9320A, so that the DAW or another important program always has a free space on the screen. In addition to all the functions included in the GLM software, the 9320A also offers the option oflevel adjustment at all outputs, so that switching from one monitoring system to another is smooth and without level jumps. In addition, the controller can output analogue input signals digitized via AES/EBU and digital signals converted via the analogue outputs. It is therefore also a DA/AD converter.

Monitoring options
Stereo monitoring systems with or without subwoofers can be connected directly to the Genelec 9320A. The controller offers balanced analog (6.35 mm jack) and digital (XLR 3-pin) inputs on the rear. The device can also receive and processaudio signals from a computer via USB-C.
Genelec has decided to give the 9320A a reference class headphone output. This supports headphone impedances from 16 to 600 ohms, with excellent linearity and a dynamic range of 126dB. In conjunction with the 'Aural ID' technology, high-quality headphones can be connected to the device and optimally operated and configured. In addition to the professional alignment of headphones, the controller also has the option of loudspeaker calibration with GLM and calibrated listening level (according to EBU R128). The supplied measuring microphone is required for this. If you switch between loudspeaker and headphone monitoring during operation, the device's fine-tuning of the playback level ensures a seamless transition during the process.
